I am using SharpKeys for this hackery as it lets you modify the Windows key at the registry level - sadly AutoHotkey is not able to override the annoying Windows default operations for that key AFAIK. The reason for two AltGr keys (replacing windows and menu keys) is that on my laptop, there is no right windows key, so I need to use the menu key instead.
The windows key is definately not important enough to need two keys, and the right-hand one is actually not that hard to reach with the wide mod applied, so AltGr is now there instead. However, I don't really want to lose easy access to AltGr as I have also defined a layer there for common symbols, brackets, etc. The idea is to make it much easier to hold down Shift, using the right thumb. There is also a great deal on the older White RGB RK100 for $56. It is currently only on this RK98 model though. If your keyboard died, I highly recommend looking to see if they are still offering the 30% off coupon. I scored the new and improved RK98 on Amazon for 30% off which put it at $56 as opposed to $80. I plug my trackball dongle in one port and a small USB fan in the other keyboard USB port in the warmer weather. Personally, I like to stay in the Hardwired connection mode because that causes the two extra USB ports to work. Once I've set the colors to my liking, the keyboard remembers them and I can use Bluetooth or the Dongle to connect. I only use the software to set the RGB colors and I prefer a steady solid color. I believe there is a Mac version too, but have not looked for it. It changes the mapping in the Windows Registry. On a side note, I don't use the software to do any keymapping (I've moved a couple of keys around), I remap with a simple free program called SharpKeys. I'm currently using V3.9 20220713 and it works great on an RK100, the new RK100Pro, and the new RK98. I've had no problems connecting the keyboard and software as long as I followed those instructions. My newer models don't even stop at the Connected Device screen as the RK100 does.
Then, performance depends on your keyboard model and whether its firmware is up to date. Plus, if you happen to break specific keys, this program can be a lifesaver. With it, you can reconfigure your keyboard to cater to your gaming, programs, or security measures.
Hopefully, you got your issues worked out by now, but you can't connect to the software unless you are using a direct cable and have the switch set to "Off". All that KeyTweak does is change the configuration of your keys, making it a lightweight, easy-to-use program.
